Asas de Socorro’s Cessna 206 Arrives From Alaska

Asas de Socorro, a missionary flight program operating from the Amazon River in Manaus, Brazil recently purchased a Cessna 206 in Alaska. Bob Schwartz, already in Alaska on Rapid Response to MARC (see page 1), supervised the loading of the aircraft on the tractor trailer, on behalf of Asas de Socorro.
The Asas chief mechanic, Ryan Joy, earned his A&P certificate as an apprentice with MMS several years ago. Familiar with our maintenance capabilities, Ryan chose to send the airplane here to have it inspected, repaired, and modified for field service where it will ultimately carry the gospel far and wide over the jungles of the Amazon basin.
